Checklist for reporting and critically appraising studies using EMG (CEDE-Check)

Reference: Besomi et al., 2024

To enhance reproducibility, CEDE developed a checklist (CEDE-Check) for EMG studies, which consists of 40 items covering:

  1. Task Description: Context, movement type, and standardization.
  2. Electrode Placement & Setup: Type, location, preparation.
  3. Data Acquisition: Recording electrode characteristics
  4. Pre-processing: Sampling rate, filtering, normalization.

This checklist aims to guide researchers to accurately report and critically appraise EMG studies, thereby promoting a standardised critical evaluation, and greater scientific rigor in research that uses EMG signals.
